Float Fishing For Carp Setup?

Hello.
How do you set up a rod for float fishing for carp??
And which rod would you use for this type of fishing??
Ive got 1match rod that i use for float fishing
A carp rod that i havent yet use!
Which one?
Cheers

i use my match rod for carp fishing all the time its very good for fish up to around twenty pounds as long as the fish have plenty of room to run its not so good if you have a lot of snags about because you cant put the pressure on but if you can let the fish have a bit of line in open water you can pull big fish out on as little as four pound line just set up the same as normal fishing with carp baits hope this helps . ps in open water set your clutch light and tighten up as the fish tires

I don’t know where your at but down here in Texas we just use a pretty good sized rod with some decent test on it…something you would catch catfish with…then you set up your float…some people just use line and milk jugs…no rod…not sure how legal that is though! lol

The bait is the most important…when I was a kid we would use bread that we bought at the store, then we would get a bag of doritos corn chips, mash the chips up and make bread balls with doritos rolled all over them…worked everytime down here…you’ll just have to experiment with a bait combo that works, carp are picky eaters sometimes…

Heres a better idea. Dont fish for Carp. Gross! oh and if you dont happen to catch one then kill it and leave it on the shore for the rats!

depends how deep the water is and where the carp are feeding,
i usually use cage feeders with bite indicators (not alarms) but on shallow water (around 4 foot or on canals) i have used a float and my river rod (10 footer) with a boilie or luncheon meat hair rigged on and a couple of weights about 6 inches from the hook hard to the bed and the float about half way up,
cast, reel in the slack and put my rod side on,
    easy,
the float will go down, for an instance, but then go across the top of the water – bingo
