I’ve no idea – …
I’ve no idea – everybody has their own take on the knotless knot. I neve had one come undone, and snap -offs at the knot are rare so i,ve got no reason to change the way I do it. here’s some trivia for you – the knotless knot is also known as the snell knot – (google it for similar versions.)

with the knotless know i was always told to whip down an the up 2 times, do you know why this is an what it dose?
HI Matt. Well, they …
HI Matt. Well, they both do the same job, but quick stops are a bit easier for decrepit old gits like me who are always forgetting their glasses. Or for old drunks like two hats who get the DT’s. If your young, with good eyesight and tee total – stick to boilie stops! Me – I’m using quickstops. Cheers

Hi Joshyboy, I’ve never caught a Tench in the Trent, but there are probably a few in the slow moving parts. I’d recommend a nice shady still water, canal or gravel pit for that species – and they love sweetcorn. And remember – you can’t fish the Trent until 16th June. Good luck!

HI there, thanks …
HI there, thanks for your comment.I use the back wind for one simple reason-it’s a habit (not a very good one!).It’s due to years of using reels with dodgy clutches. At least I trust myself to backwind, I just don’t trust the clutches. I recently bought an Abu Garcia and I forked out a bit more, but it’s still not smooth enough. On my carp reels I set the clutch carefully, but I often switch to backwind,have you noticed the Mattster does the same sometimes?Advice appreciated, thanks again.
Hi mate i notice …
)
Hi mate i notice you play the fish using backwind, Ive always found it isnt as good as using the clutch, i mean we pay top money for top quality tech in our clutches and they spend years developing the clutches we ask for lol only to use backwinding when we play the fish. Is there a reason for your prefference of using back wind whilst playing as i found it creates of losses. Great video by the way, enjoyable as usual
yeah, good aren’t …
yeah, good aren’t they? And about 99p for 20. Another advantage of tying you own rigs is you can experiment with different lengths, rig materials, hair length etc.For example I’m currently experimenting with two hairs so I can mount two baits side by side rather than’snowman’ style presentation.
love the quickstops …
love the quickstops! thanks for the info about the knotless knots, getting fed up paying 2 quid each time i buy a hair rig!
HI JP, If I’m …
HI JP, If I’m margin fishing I often fish with a slack line, although some of the swims I fish demand a tight line and ‘locked up’ approach because of the snags. Even so I occasionally come unstuck, as in the bubblegum episode. Two Hats tends to use backleads, and who am I to argue.. you’ll notice he catches more than I do most of the time..,.
why dont you use …
