Carp Live! Stiff Rig

I was playing around with a stiff hook link (Snakebite 25lb) and a hair positioned along the hook shank (using a hair aligner). Then I introduced a couple of variations. At the very end, you’ll find a “dancing carp” (I swear!). Visibility was quite good for once.

@cjdaddy43 The underwater camera is connected by a long cable to a display unit. The display unit has a VGA connector. And I bought some electronic gizmo that can record video from a VGA input, and store it in digital format. Then I can edit the material at home.

Love the 6:32 moment, ololol the fish was like “da fok is with this corn”

  • carpfan96:

    you want to try …
you want to try counterbalancing your hook bait by using one real piece of corn and one fake or adding a bit of cork between the baits.
this will make the baits fly back into the mouth much faster and producing better hook holds and more fish because they find it easier to suck in.
Also try stripping back about an inch or so of the coated braid closest to the hook, this will make the hook bait seem more natural and allow a bit of movement on the bottom to match the free offerings.
    great vid 5 *

next time put a large shot like a AAA or SSG and shorten the hook length as
done by adam penning (english fisherman) he reckons the weight of the shot
does a good job of helping the point stick in quicker.gonna try it this wkend myself.

u want a smaller hook link to stop the fish spitting the bait back out ..
if u have a smaller hooklink then the weight is picked up quicker and therefore hooks itself more times….

    @Collorz900 sweet …
@Collorz900 sweet corn is highly attractive for carp. They just love it. Combination of flavor & color. When using 2 or 3 kernels of corn, small fry (e.g. sunfish) will not be able to pick it up, at least not with a hair rig. So you will (usually) only catch carp, large or small. That is… in North America. In Europe, there are all sorts of white fish who like corn too, which creates a challenge for carp anglers, and that’s why boilies are used that often out there.

  • Collorz900:

    I don’t understand …
I don’t understand why every one is using corn.
If you use corn it is really possible to catch little fishes?
But why do you use it than?
