Whats the best bait/or easiest way to make carp bait?
I’m 13 and my friend KC is 13. Were going fishing tomorrow, hes spending the night. We wanna catch carp at like the moring time.
What’s the best and easiest bait.
We only have a Kidney Drugs by, but we do have some stuff at my house.
Any Ideas? and I’m going fishing in Seneca River.
Easy but effective baits:
Peanut butter sandwich: Take pieces of peanut butter sandwich and roll into small dough balls. Just make sure you use sweet peanut butter instead of salty ones.
Sugar cookie dough. You could use it as is.
Mix water and corn meal (about the consistency of mud). Heat mix in microwave until steam bubbles appears. Let mix stand and cool. The hardness of the dough will change after it cooled. The finished product should be soft to the touch but firm enough to handle like dough. If it is too wet, heat in microwave some more to evaporate the water. Or, you could simply mix in flour to make it harder. If it is too dry, crush it as finely as you could. Mix the crushed dough with flour and lake/pond water until you got the right consistency. The dough balls should have a firmness that felt like uncooked cookie dough.
Note: Add flour to hot mix will create a very sticky dough. You have to wait until the mix cooled down before you add any flour.
PS: If you like to add scent, you could add melted marshmallows into your dough. Marshmallows are made with corn syrup + vanilla flavoring. Don’t over use marshmallows or your dough will become very sticky.

That’s my question. Very similar to yours. A bunch of the answers are good ones I’d say. Good advice to not only what to use for bait but also how to use the bait.

Carp are basically bottom feeders and they eat just about anything. Something rotten or smelly is good.I just use a hunk of fatty meat. Even the fat edge the local butcher throws out or off cuts from the kitchen.
You don’t need fancy lures. I use a sinker about 6 inches from the hook. A medium sized hook with multiple barbs is good. I don’t use lures or glittery dangly things.
Usually I just throw in the line and let it sit for about 20 minutes. Open water is not too good for me. I get better results where the bottom is filled with snags or mulch or is muddy.
Take plenty of hooks because snags can eat your hooks. Grrr!

Plain old bread or bread & peanut butter works great. Read the first answerer’s question he asked, and look at the answers to it, i explained the ingredients to "Backwater Charlie’s Cat & Carp Bait".
Happy fishing.

one of the best carp baits is simply take oatmeal and big red soda and mix them together to a nice sticky batter and roll into balls the carp love it and it also works for catfish when you get it mixed right it will stay on the hook and not fall apart in the water

i have used this hundreds of times it works and it is cheap
Get some bread and get some treble hooks if you have any. Make a good dough ball around the hook, but do not use the crust. Also, good old night crawler worms work good too.
