whats the best bait to use for carp fishing nothing that costs too much?
hi there I’ve been fishing for 22 years now and the best carp baits by far are .
Halibut pellet’s 14 mm are a good size just drill them and put them on the hair rig the price for these are around £3
per kg
Boilies are one of the best baits out there all different flavour,
i find fish flavour’s in winter and sweet in the summer work the best and the price is around £5– £10 per bag
meat and corn are good baits but the smaller fish will hammer them to bits depending what water’s you fish
hope this is of some help to you
Bread, tinned lucheon meat, sweetcorn

The best bait for carp fishing is fresh white bread, which is cheap. Sweetcorn is another good alternative.

For bottom fishing with float and ledger use luncheon meat or sweetcorn. For fishing on the surface use crusty white bread or hair rigged dog biscuit (the small roundish ones) which tend to stay on the rig longer. Best of luck – going tomorrow can’t wait

In my experience, if fishing on the bottom, you cant beat a chunk of luncheon meat on a hair rig with half a chum mixer on there to make it stand up in the water. For surface fishing, a nice piece of white crust, or try 2 chum mixers bait banded to the hook, you shouldn’t fail. Happy fishing.

Carp will eat almost anything.
I caught 3 up to 10lb last night off the surface using a freelined "Bakers complete" meaty dog food biscuit (about £2.20). They’re excellent as they float well and are soft enough to hook. Surface fishing is my favourite method at this time of year.
