what is the best bait for carp fishing in lakes?
if doe ball whats the ingredients
canned whole kernel corn is right up there near the top.
my favorite doughbait, or one of them anyway, is wheaties cereal crushed up and mixed with ripe banana. it smells good to the fish and stays on the hook real good.
these two should give you a good start.
cats will eat the wheaties bait also.
catFISH…not CATS…
although, l did have a pretty weird cat once but that’s another story.
works good in rivers too.
it’s an old commercial fisherman’s recipe.
not that the fisherman was old… the recipe was.
his dad and granddad used it. caught enough fish to raise families.
maybe they ate a lot of carp…

Maybe the carp are just picky over here but, i can’t catch a carp on anything but a peanut butter doughball. I use peanut butter, bread, crackers, cinnamon and butter flavored maple syrup. It stays on the hook real good, and i advise you to use a treble hook.
As stated by bassplayer, the Wheaties trick is well known and works good around here.
Ain’t caught nothing but bluegill and bullheads with corn.
Hope i helped ya out.
