can anyone give me a good but simple carp bait recipe please?
i got interested in carp fishing bout a month ago and i would like to mix my own bait but i dont want the recipe to be hard.
Just use pillsbury plain old biscuit poppin fresh dough….. is that easy enough? it’s the right consistency, it floats, it holds its shape , it stays on the hook, it works and carp love it what else is there? Oh yeh, I forgot to mention it doesn’t have $30,000 to loan you, it doesn’t talk back and no it won’t whine about having to drive.

if you have a near-by fish hatchery take some of the fish food pellets and crush them up into a powder mix it with flour and water until it forms a paste it should be a bit dry so when it absorbs more water when you cast it it will stay on the hook
good luck and tight lines

Here are two of many articles you can read up on that have good recipes.
The point to all of this is that there are two things to really keep in mind when formulating baits for carp.
The first is that sweetcorn based baits have the right amino acids that attract carp. this is something to really keep in mind.
the second is when you say hard, do you mean difficult to make, or hard in actual consistency of the bait?
the reason I ask is that carp will mouth the softer baits like dough bought in a store, you should stay away from these, besides, your looking for satisfaction in not only catching, but doing it on bait you made yourself right?
Hard baits are taken to the back of the mouth with carp, given you a chance to better set your hook

Lay out a hanky and then pour wheaties in the middle. Then take all four corners and hold them and dip in water and knead to get the right thickness. It worked for me in TX.

Just caught two good sized carp today at a pond in my neighborhood. Take a handfull of wheaties and add a little bit of water. It should have the consistency of dough. Completely cover a treble hook with the dough and cast where you think the carp are. The wheaties slowly deteriorates attracting the carp. Just let it sit and be patient. Oh and hold on cause your in for a fight.
